The Stream is Flowing......................................

Homelessness has reached an alarming rate in the United States, in 2013 there were more that 109,000 individuals seeking shelter and/or some other type of supportive services.

As you  may know, homelessness does not discriminate based on age, race, color, creed, gender, or religion.   And since it is God's desire that none should perish, it was laid on the heart of Healing Stream Ministries, a small church located in Lithonia, GA to launch the Healing the Homeless Drive in 2012. The mission was specifically designed to help, heal, and give hope to the homeless.

The mission blesses the homeless with duffel bags filled with items for comfort and survival.  They consist of  necessities such as blankets, hats, scarves, gloves, shirts, towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste, wet wipes, combs, Vaseline, and water bottles just to name a few.

The first year, Healing Stream Ministries served over 70 homeless individuals on this mission.  In 2013 we were able to serve, with the help of sponsors, over 100 individuals and in 2014, for the 3rd annual Healing the Homeless Drive, it is our desire to serve at least 200 homeless individuals.

We would like to invite you to help us reach this goal by sponsoring at least one homeless person with a $30.00 donation and then ask a friend  and /or family member to match your donation.  The donation period is now through November 22, 2014.  The bags will be distributed  during National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month in November.  In addition to cash donations, the items listed above will also be graciously accepted.

Donations are tax deductible (58-2648736) and can be made in the following ways:

Why Should You Donate?

See Jesus said in Matthew 25:45,   inasmuch as ye have done IT unto one of the least of these my brethren ye have also done IT unto me.  Inasmuch as you have passed them by, inasmuch as you ignored their cry, inasmuch as you have made a snide remark, you have also done IT unto Jesus.  So, if IT  means anything to you at all, give to this worthy cause.

May God's Blessing continue to be upon you,

E. Gerard Scroggins. Pastor
